Onam 2026: Al Shirawi FM Celebrating Unity in Diversity

Festivals like Onam remind us that culture has a beautiful way of bringing people together.

Our workplace came alive in a riot of colour, traditional attire, beautiful Pookalams, rice harvests, mango leaves and flowers adorning our spaces as we welcomed the spirit of Mahabali. It was a vibrant confluence of cultures, as people from different backgrounds came together to celebrate community and togetherness.

The day unfolded with laughter, camaraderie and celebration, from the spirited Pulikali to the vibrant ritual dance of Theyyam, and the infectious energy of everyone dancing to traditional music and fun games. We shared a sumptuous Sadhya, celebrating not just the flavours of Kerala, but the joy of sitting together around one table.

And, of course, the festivities ended on a high with our Malayali Manka & Kerala Sreeman contest!

It was a celebration of unity in diversity, different cultures, traditions and people coming together to create something truly special.

A day of heritage, happiness and harmony. A day to remember indeed! 🌸✨
