Oasis Enterprises Delivers Broadcast Lighting & Control System Integration for Al Arabiya’s Riyadh Studios

We recently completed the installation, and commissioning of a full broadcast lighting and control system solution across five studios for Al Arabiya in Riyadh, and it’s a project we’re genuinely proud to talk about.

At the core of the installation is the Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) Apex 10 control system, networked across all five studios to give operators the ability to manage any studio from any control room on the same network. For a broadcaster of Al Arabiya’s scale, that kind of cross-studio flexibility isn’t just convenient, it’s operationally critical. Downtime or limitations in control coverage simply aren’t an option in a live news environment.

Alongside the Apex 10, we deployed the ETC Net3 Conductor for system-wide monitoring and management. What we particularly value about the Conductor on a project like this is how much it simplifies the life of the technical team after handover, configuration backups, error reporting, usage tracking, and faster onboarding of new devices are all handled in one place. It’s the kind of infrastructure investment that pays off quietly but consistently over the life of the system. Power distribution runs through ETC Sensor 3 dimming and relay racks with built-in redundancy throughout. Non-negotiable for a facility where continuity of operation is everything.

On the fixtures side, the spec was built around matching the right tool to each specific need. BB&S Reflect Color Studio and Compact Fresnel fixtures handle key, fill, and set lighting, chosen specifically for their silent operation and broadcast-grade color rendering. The Claypaky Midi-B WW moving heads bring dynamic capability directly into the studio infrastructure, giving production teams creative flexibility without relying on hired-in equipment. For compact color-mixing applications, the Rosco Braq Cube punches well above its size — 100W RGBA output in a 5-inch footprint, with a phosphor-converted amber emitter that sets it apart from most fixtures in that category. And for the building exterior, the Cameo Light Zenit W600 delivers serious output, 21,000 lumens, IP65 rated with wireless W-DMX capability that made the outdoor integration considerably more straightforward.

The entire project was delivered in three months. Given the coordination involved across multiple systems, fixture categories, and site dependencies, that was a genuine challenge — but the team managed well by front-loading the control infrastructure and working to a tight sequencing plan throughout.

The result is a broadcast environment built for both current production demands and future flexibility. We’re proud to have delivered it for Al Arabiya and look forward to continuing to support their operations across the region.
